JADE STONE ROLLER
HOW DO I USE IT?
GREAT QUESTION! WE HAVE PREPARED FOR YOU A STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTION GUIDE BELOW.
STEP 1. Prep the skin.
Before you reach for your roller, you will want to prep your face. So, first things first.
-Cleanse your face! You want to make sure your working on a clean surface, so cleanse your face and remove any makeup before you start.
– Next, if you use a toning mist in your skin care routine, apply a couple of spritzes to your face and let it soak in for about a minute! If toning is not part of your skincare routine move straight on to the next step.
-Grab your favourite serum or alternatively moisturiser, cream or lotion. Apply your product of choice to your face, making sure you spread the product down your neck too!
Tip: While there’s no rule that says you have to store your roller in the fridge, it’s hard to beat the added cooling sensation you get when you massage the chilled stone over your face.
There are two ends of a jade stone roller. The larger stone portion of your roller is to be used on your neck and the entirety of your face excluding your under-eye area. Your under-eye area is when you flip the roller around and use the smaller jade stone. Be gentle particularly under your eyes as this area is the most sensitive/delicate.
STEP 2: Begin with your neck.
The key to rolling your neck is to move upwards with gentle pressure. Start at your neck or clavicle and move upwards from there.
Apply gentle pressure to your neck and slowly move upwards. You will want to target the sides of your neck and just under your jawline. Press and move slowly up your neck and to the base of your chin. This soft massage gives your neck a stress-relieving massage, while also promoting circulation, which helps with pesky puffiness in your face.
STEP 3: Transition to your face.
Now it is time for your facial muscles to get in on the action. Whether you are rolling your cheeks, chin, or forehead, you’ll want to roll outwards, away from the centre of your face, towards your hairline, to really get your circulation going. Start on either side of your nose, pushing outwards as you roll. A light touch is key –if you press too hard, the jade could accidentally rupture capillaries and leave you with tiny red marks on your face. So again, be gentle!
STEP 4: Use the small stone for your eye area.
Now switch over to the small stone. The added dexterity makes it easy to target any puffy under-eye circles. Simply roll from the inner corner of your eye out. Since the skin under and above your eyes is extra delicate, you will want to use caution when treating these areas–no pressing too hard or rough movements!
STEP 5: Clean your roller.
If you used your roller to apply moisturizer or serums, you will want to sanitize your roller with soapy water before you tuck it away for later use. Squirt some gentle soap or baby shampoo onto the stone, then roll it under warm water. Finally, roll it out on a towel to dry.
